In 2017, I wrote a paper called Clarifying Income Distribution: An issue of equality or need? for Policy Exchange. In it, I provide a summary and analysis of the (then) latest information on the distribution of income in the UK, with a secondary focus on the distribution of wealth and consumption. I also relate my findings to the role equality should play within political society, and duties towards the least well off. You can read it here.

I’ve also written various other things on the topics of equality, income, and work. A chapter I wrote on pay and purpose in the higher-education sector — entitled ‘Are vice-chancellors paid too much?’ — was published in a book called Top Dogs & Fat Cats, which is edited by Len Shackleton, and which you can read here. My chapter is also extracted on my medium site, here. Also, vaguely on topic, here you can read a speech I made at the Battle of Ideas on the topic of the value of university education.

Here are some articles I wrote for Policy Exchange — on wealth, and on earnings. Here’s an article I wrote on pay, for a FREER essay collection on economic freedom, which I edited. And here are some of my pieces on these topics for ConHome — on pie division, and on the future of work.
